Privacy First Approach

Your data is stored on your device and synced securely to your private iCloud (Apple CloudKit) account to keep preferences and progress consistent across Apple devices you own. We do not store your data on any Melow-operated servers.

What Data is Stored

Personal Information (if you choose to provide it):

  • • First and last name
  • • Birthday
  • • Gender and pronouns
  • • Occupation
  • • Wellness goals

App Usage Data:

  • • Breathing exercise completion history
  • • Progress tracking (streaks, total resets)
  • • Daily goal progress
  • • Achievement progress
  • • App preferences and settings
  • • Audio and notification preferences
  • • Premium subscription status (managed by Apple)

We do NOT collect:

• Location data
• Contact information
• Photos or media files
• Microphone or camera access
• Health data beyond app usage

How Your Data is Stored

On-device + iCloud (CloudKit):

  • • Data is stored locally on your device and synced to your private iCloud (CloudKit) database tied to your Apple ID
  • • Sync keeps preferences, progress, and subscriptions consistent across your Apple devices
  • • Melow does not operate servers that store your personal data
  • • No third-party analytics or ad tracking services are used

Data Security:

  • • Protected by iOS and iCloud encryption in transit and at rest
  • • Data remains isolated within your Apple account; Melow cannot access your private CloudKit records
  • • You can manage iCloud access in your device settings

Your Control

You have complete control over your data:

  • • View your data anytime in the app's Progress and Profile sections
  • • Edit or delete personal information in Profile settings
  • • Delete the app and disable iCloud for Melow to remove local data and stop sync; iCloud-stored data follows your Apple ID deletion/retention settings
  • • For help with iCloud data removal, contact support@melow-app.com

Data Requests:

Because personal data is stored in your private iCloud and on your devices, you can access and manage it directly through Melow and your Apple settings. We do not maintain separate copies on Melow servers.
